Graphite AA Furnace Tubes

ICL’s new low cost, high quality graphite tubes meet or exceed OEM specifications for graphite replacement tubes to be used in their AA spectrophotometers. SAVE OVER 30% OFF OF OEM PRICES. ICL’s graphite tubes are made from ultra pure grade graphite using the most advanced CVD (chemical vapor deposition) technology for pyrolytic coating. ICL tubes have a long analytical life and their sensitivity exceeds OEM specifications, often with reduced interference and always at a lower cost. Built-in L’vov platforms are available for Perkin-Elmer AA spectrophotometers and those brands using compatible tubes.
CVD pyrolytic coating has two distinct advantages over uncoated graphite. The coating improves sensitivity by reducing the porosity of the graphite and it results in longer tube life at elevated temperatures.
We tested the sensitivity and precision of these tubes using 2 different tubes for over 700 firings with a vanadium standard [50mg/L (ppb) in 0.2% nitric acid]. Injection volume was 20mL. Analysis was at 318.4 nm with a slit width of 0.7 nm. Sensitivity and precision were calculated every 20 firings. The sensitivity for vanadium (defined as the concentration of sample that will produce 0.0044 absorbance units) was calculated at 0.2mg/L (ppb), which compares to 0.4mg/L quoted by Thermo Jarrell Ash and 0.8mg/L by Perkin-Elmer. As a standard of precision we used the relative standard deviation (RSD), which was near 2% (mostly below) over the 700 firings. At the end of 700 firings neither of these tubes had reached the end of its useful life. Absorbance actually increased after 50 firings and then stayed about the same.
L’vov platforms are used to isolate the sample from the wall of the tube, which allows more reproducible atomization of the sample. When the sample is kept from direct contact with the tube wall, the isolated sample vaporizes into a higher temperature atmosphere because of the indirect heating. This produces more free atoms which reduces interferences. In addition, indirect heating limits sample contamination of the tube caused by contact with the tube wall. ICL has a unique L’vov platform available for its PE style tubes that is built-in and does not require user insertion of the platform into the tube.
User inserted L’vov platforms are available for GBC Spectrophotometers. Ask about the availability of L’vov platforms for other brands.
Why not try the only test that really matters? Take advantage of our trial offer for new customers and buy just one (1) tube at same unit price normally available only for quantities of 10 and try it out in your lab.
